Post Graduation Layouts!

As I mentioned in my last post, my oldest daughter graduated from high school last week.  It was a weekend filled with excitement, emotion, and of course many, many photos!  I squeezed in time to finish a couple of single layouts this past weekend!

It was great to get some family photos along with the graduation and prom photos.  I am so happy about these ones of Hannah with her dad and I!  The first layout uses the Ariana paper, which is really perfect for black and white photos!  I love converting colour photos to black and white when there are some clashing colours in the photos, or I just want to use some favourite supplies!

And a close up!

All supplies are Close to My Heart, with the exception of the Thickers,
which are from American Crafts.

The next layout is a picture of me with all four of my kids - something I have to say I have never been able to organise before!  I have lots of them with Mark, but I am usually the
photographer and not in the photos at all!!!

I love the bright colours of the  Lollydoodle line, and the self adhesive
sequins are perfect for a little bit of bling!

Stay tuned for more graduation and prom layouts in the days ahead -
I need to do something with all those photos!!!

Happy Day!

Welcome to June!

It is hard to believe June is here already!  The last month has flown by and for our family was filled with birthday celebrations and the graduation of our oldest daughter.  Now I have more than a few photos to scrap!!! Here is a sample of the many photos I took:

This month's stamp of the month is pretty cute and I can't wait to use it with some of my Canada Day photos from last year!  I think it will also be great for birthday and other celebration themed cards!!

Later this week I will be posting some of what I have created with this month SOTM!  And just maybe a grad photo layout or two, or three, or. . . . !!!

Happy Day everyone!

Slackin. . .

OK, I haven't really been slacking - just a full life, for which I am grateful, and a little less time in the craft room!  I had a bit of time this past weekend so I gathered up a few of the zillion pics I have of one of our not really small anymore kittens, Dallas, and put together a quick two page layout, using Skylark:

I seriously have become a cat person - almost!  Sophie, our other kitten is getting jealous, so I promise a layout for her very soon!!

I also did a couple of cards:

I love the quatrefoil embossing folder - and I am actually getting use out of my old Big Shot!!

And finally,  a peek at the April Stamp of the Month - Balloon Talk- $5 with your $50 purchase!:

So cute!  I have to say I love the "awesomeness" stamp - I say it all the time and my kids bug me - now I have validation in the form of a stamp!

Happy day everyone!

Here comes Peter Cottontail!

It is just the beginning of Lent but spring is in the air so I thought I would get ahead and make a layout for photos of our annual egg hunt!  Even though my kids are Tweens and teens, they still love a hunt for chocolate eggs on Easter morning!!

This layout uses Lollydoodle paper and the Happy Easter  B1423 stamp set!

There is space for one 4x4 and two 2x2 photos, and you could add more!

I love the bright colours and the sweet bunny, and the white daisy ink has become a favourite to use on layouts!

What are your Easter traditions?  Do you scrap your traditions?  As my kids get older I am trying to make an effort to make some pages before those special family events become less important!!  I would love to hear about YOUR Spring traditions!

Happy Day everyone!

More Card challenges

I am on a roll with card making this week and have a couple of new challenge cards to post.

The first is for the Atlantic Hearts challenge:

I used the Hello Blooms set for the flowers and paper from the Lollydoodle paperback. The colours used are Lagoon, Cotton Candy, Buttercup and Sorbet.

The second one is for Mojo Monday:

For this I used the Laughing Lola paperpack along with my Cricut for the die cuts!

I hope you have a chance to try a challenge or two!  There are so many  to choose from and they are a great way to get you using your stash and perhaps trying some new products or techniques!

Happy Day Everyone!!

Color Dare and a layout all about me!!

I am camera shy.  I admit it.  I HATE having a picture taken - I never like it and am always hyper critical.  It's a problem, and I admit it.  And I am trying to change.  My IPhone has helped a bit - I take the occasional selfie now - not obsessed, but it is pretty easy to snap a quick photo on the phone - and just as easy to delete if I don't like it!

I decided to use one of my selfies from New Year's Eve ( no - no THAT kind of selfie - I was very well behaved!!) to make a layout about (insert gasp here) myself!  I also wanted to participate in  a colour dare challenge from Color My Heart, so that made my paper choice pretty simple.

The challenge this week was to use colours from the Skylark Collection.  I am in LOVE with these papers and I also just recently got the Picture My Life pack, which has a whole lotta great pocket scrapping cards in 3 x 4 and 4 x 6 sizes.  I combined the card with the paper pack and Voila - a very quick and easy layout - all about me!!

Super quick, and I can feel good about actually having myself in my scrapbooks.  And my kids will be happy because they always ask why I am not in our family scrapbooks, and use my reluctance to have a photo taken to dodge me when I try to take a photo of them!  Now I can get some pics and they won't be able to refuse!!  I like it.

When was the last time you scrapped yourself????  It is probably past time that you did!  I would love to see your work, so post a link in the comments so you can share your layouts all about you!!

Happy Day everyone!
