Color Dare and a layout all about me!!

I am camera shy.  I admit it.  I HATE having a picture taken - I never like it and am always hyper critical.  It's a problem, and I admit it.  And I am trying to change.  My IPhone has helped a bit - I take the occasional selfie now - not obsessed, but it is pretty easy to snap a quick photo on the phone - and just as easy to delete if I don't like it!

I decided to use one of my selfies from New Year's Eve ( no - no THAT kind of selfie - I was very well behaved!!) to make a layout about (insert gasp here) myself!  I also wanted to participate in  a colour dare challenge from Color My Heart, so that made my paper choice pretty simple.

The challenge this week was to use colours from the Skylark Collection.  I am in LOVE with these papers and I also just recently got the Picture My Life pack, which has a whole lotta great pocket scrapping cards in 3 x 4 and 4 x 6 sizes.  I combined the card with the paper pack and Voila - a very quick and easy layout - all about me!!

Super quick, and I can feel good about actually having myself in my scrapbooks.  And my kids will be happy because they always ask why I am not in our family scrapbooks, and use my reluctance to have a photo taken to dodge me when I try to take a photo of them!  Now I can get some pics and they won't be able to refuse!!  I like it.

When was the last time you scrapped yourself????  It is probably past time that you did!  I would love to see your work, so post a link in the comments so you can share your layouts all about you!!

Happy Day everyone!

  1. Great page, Jacquelin.
I am much thinner and younger in real life than I am in photos LOL and that is my excuse for not doing pages about myself.
You did good and it is a nice photo too.

  2. I am so with you about not taking photos of myself. This page is lovely, and your photo is great. Thanks for linking up with us over at Color My Heart.

  3. Beautiful page! Love that you included so many words on it. Thanks for taking the Color Dare.

I appreciate your comments - they help me make this blog better! Thanks!
