Sib (ling) Love

June has been a busy month with Hannah's grad, softball and the abrupt end of school due to a teacher's strike. The good news is that it feels like summer is really here and the pace has now slowed down-
which means more scrappy time!!!

I have been experimenting with making spray ink from re inkers and then using it more on my layouts.
So far I am happy with the results!!!

On this layout of Hannah with her brothers on grad night, I used ink, a spray bottle with water and some overlays to create a background. I then used paper from the Lollydoodle paper pack and
some washi tape to create the layout.

The title was made with July's Stamp of the Month (available for only $5 with a qualifying purchase July 1-31). The Circus Alphabet stamp is very versatile and has an upper and lower case alphabet, plus numbers!  Fun!

Here are a couple of close ups:

Now for some more scrappy time!!!
 I {heart} Summer!!

Happy Day everyone!

Card time again!

It has been a bit since I posted some of the cards I have been working on - I love the satisfaction of making cards - they are generally pretty easy and actually get finished!

A few stamps, a little cardstock and patterned paper, and my Cricut and these three cards were a snap to put together!

What have YOU been working on lately?  Cards?  layouts?  Pocket style scrapbooks?  I am looking forward to some quality scrapping time this summer - and  I have a feeling I will be working on all three!!

Happy Day everyone!

Pet pages. . .

I never thought I would be one of those scrappers who scraps their pets.  After all, I have four kids, so that should provide me with enough photos to scrap for the next 50 years!  But the kids are less cooperative as teenagers than they were when they are young - shy of the camera, and mostly annoyed at being harassed by mamarazzi!

So, when we welcomed two rescue kittens into our family ( and hearts!) in October, they became a new photo obsession, and the naturally scrapbook pages will follow!

Here is my first, of our sweet girl Dallas:

The 3 D flowers, leaves and other embellishments were made quickly and easily with
the CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge!

I know there will be more to come! Our other kitty, Sophie, is looking a little jealous, so I better get working on a page for her!

Take a Balloon Ride. . .

I have a great new paper line that I LOVE called Balloon Ride, and I couldn't figure out how to use it!  I knew it would be great for my chorus photos ( I used to sing with the City of Gardens Chorus - Sweet Adelines!) but our costumes are bright red and it just didn't work!  So I went to my fall back - when all else fails - convert to black and white!  It enables me to use any photos with any paper!  I love that!

Here is the result!

I have to say - although I rarely like photos of myself - I really love the one of me taken while I was singing - pure joy is what I feel when I sing and I feel like this pic reflects that!

And of course, it wouldn' be chorus without a little ( or a lot!) of  BLING!!

All supplies are from the NEW Close to My Heart Catalogue available as of February 1ST!

Happy Day!

Mojo Monday Challenge #330

I have not always been a big cardmaker, but lately I am finding it fun to pick a challenge and then create something based on the challenge.  There are so many Card Challenge Blogs out there, but I am loving Mojo Monday, which provides a sketch each Monday.  It is a great way to get some cards made and challenge myself a bit, especially when my mojo is a no go!!

Here is the sketch from this week's challenge:

And here is my card!

A lovey card for my Valentine - made from leftover Christmas paper!  Gotta love using up leftover pieces!

The dies are from the Cricut  Artbooking Cartridge.

You can check out the Mojo Monday Challenge Blog at www.mojomonday.blogspot.com.

Give it a try - a challenge blog is a great way to find your mojo, or just get some projects completed!

Happy Day!

Project Life 2.0

Last year I started doing more scrapping in the style of Project Life.  Using those adorable 3x4 and 4x6 cards made getting pages done quick and easy!  Not to mention helping me to get through the sheer quantity of photos that a camerasaurus ( my son's word!) like myself takes!

But what else can you do with those cards?  CTMH has a new line of fun cards called Picture My Life that come a number of different styles.  I chose the Surf's Up collection, because I have a ton of summer/ beach/lake photos that need attention.  But I also wanted to use the cards on my regular layouts as well.

Here is a layout I did using primarily cards, a 9x9 piece of patterned paper, and cardstock.

It was fun, fast and easy!  I also used my Cricut, which more and more is becoming a staple in layout design.

Here is the Picture My Life pack I used:

And three other available sets:  (There are 8 in total)

Have you tried this style of scrapping?  What do you think?  Enquiring minds want to know!  Leave a comment and let me know if you would try it, or how you are already incorporating it into your scrapbooking!

Happy Day!

Hexagon Love

I love the current honeycomb trend!  Those lovely 6 sided shapes that are like honeycomb are very versatile and fun to play with!  With the new CTMH Idea Book coming out on February 1, I thought I would share a sneak peek of one of the new paper packs, Skylark, along with a new stamp set called Honeycomb.

This actually uses only one  full piece of double sided patterned paper, a piece of card stock (plus a 4 x 6 photo mat) and then a few hexagons cut from coordinating patterns.  The rest of the hexagons are stamped to give a variety of patterns in various colours.  I used the Artbooking Cricut cartridge to cut all those hexagons - I LOVE that it coordinated with many stamp sets, making it very useful and user friendly!

Aside from the fussy cutting - not my favourite, I will confess - it was quick and easy to put this together.  I am loving the new stuff coming out and enjoying playing around with my new toys!!

More sneak peeks to come over the next couple of weeks - stay tuned!

Happy Day!
